With 13 years’ experience in retail and corporate travel, Kelly’s professionalism has been recognised with several awards including Travel Account of the Year for CWT (BHP Billiton) and various sales awards at Harvey World Travel during her career.
Based in BCD Travel’s Melbourne business travel office, Kelly has a passion for adventure travel and has visited many exotic locations around the world.
“I’ve been to Africa three times, visiting Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe,” she said. “I really enjoyed the African overland experience, including climbing all over the Sossusvlei sand dunes in Namibia and canoeing 20kms on the Fish River Canyon.
“I’ve trekked the Inca Trail in Peru and caught Pirahanas in the Amazon. I’ve visited China, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Malaysia and most of Europe. I love the Middle East and one day I’d love to go back to Africa to trek Kilimanjaro and see the gorillas.”
Studying a Bachelor of Business Studies (Management/HR), Kelly’s top tip for business travellers is to stay awake when adjusting to a new time zone and drink plenty of water.
“Female corporate travellers should always take a pashmina on long flights too – airline blankets are never warm enough.”
