Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner has made its international debut at Britain’s Farnborough International Air Show, with almost 900 orders for the wide-body enviro-friendly plane already placed by 56 global companies including popular Australian corporate travel carrier, Qantas.
Qantas has ordered 50 jets to assist with its expansion of budget subsidiary, Jetstar into Southern Europe.
There are two Dreamliner models – the 787-8 with room for 210-250 leisure and corporate travel guests and the 787-9, which can carry almost 300 leisure and business travellers.
Business travel company, BCD Travel says the Dreamliner might be particularly attractive to greenie corporate travellers with its composite materials make-up and its ability to use 20% less fuel with less noise.
Business travellers will also have more room to relax and wider windows to enjoy the views.
