An improving Australian dollar is prompting more corporate travel clients to book overseas meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) in Malaysia and Thailand, according to groups and incentives organisers and corporate travel management company, BCD Travel.
With very little corporate travel to overseas destinations in 2009 due to the GFC, it is encouraging to see business travel clients looking at a broader mix of destinations for the new year, said BCD Travel National Groups and Incentives Manager, Joel Gleeson.
Mr Gleeson has already booked flights and accommodation for two major corporate travel clients heading to Asia in January for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE).
“The value for money and recreational options in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur are fantastic,” he said.
“There are also many new hotels in these cities, with sensational five-star locations only charging about $AU150 per night.”
