Lack of control over corporate travel expenditure and a labour-intensive manual process for reconciliation were two major issues for a large medical products company before it partnered with leading travel management company, BCD Travel.
With more than 570 staffers undertaking corporate travel during the year and expenditure above $7 million, the company turned to BCD Travel for assistance.
BCD Travel recognised the need for a completely streamlined and enhanced payment solution to allow for close monitoring, analysis and reporting of their client’s corporate travel expenditure. Only then could they mandate and enforce a business travel policy.
BCD Travel recommended a card travel account program and appointed an Implementation Manager to oversee the changeover. The result was a monthly billed Business Travel Account matching all airfares and agency fees for easy reconciliation. And as the Account was ATO compliant, it removed the need for individual tax invoices.
Once the company was set up on BCD Travel’s online booking engine (OBE), they began receiving monthly reports on total expenditure and volumes of corporate travel.
BCD Travel then assisted the client in designing a business travel policy aimed at reducing costs, with all of its rules programmed into the OBE to ensure 100% compliance with all corporate travel bookings.
