A fresh approach to business travel

Pre-trip approvals for corporate travel

BCD Travel, the third largest corporate travel management company in the world, has just released its 2010 Global Industry Forecast Paper with loads of predictions for 2010.

Among its predictions are that pre-trip approvals for business travel will continue following their introduction in many firms across the world during leaner times in 2009.

In Australia, BCD Travel will soon introduce the TripSource Authoriser tool on its Online Booking Engine (OBE), with corporate travel clients able to pay a small fee to enable it on their company’s profile. Staff will book their corporate travel as usual but the booking will be automatically forwarded via email to management for approval. With the click of a button, managers can cancel corporate travel that they deem unnecessary.

Other Control Demand Management features to be introduced on BCD Travel’s Online Booking Engine (OBE) next year include questions as whether the corporate travel is billable to the client, with options for flights and accommodation depending on the answer.
