A fresh approach to business travel

Top hotel loyalty programs for corporate travellers

Travel management company, BCD Travel says corporate travellers should take advantage of a growing number of hotel loyalty programs offering useful rewards such as free in-room internet access.

Most hotels offer leisure and corporate travellers a loyalty system based on points which are redeemable for rewards such as business travel or groups and incentives accommodation, air travel and car hire.

Among them is the Intercontinental Group’s Priority Club, where points are also redeemable for gift cards with major retailers such as Coles. Business travel members also receive priority check-in, extended check-out and complimentary room upgrades.

Accor Hotels offers A-Club with points also transferable to other reward programs, such as Shell’s petrol card.

Among the most unique loyalty programs is the Global Hotel Alliance’s GHA Discovery program.

Corporate travel members of GHA Discovery can choose from a range of unique ‘Local Experiences’ at their destination – that is, exclusive events, tours and adventures that are authentic to local culture and usually not available to the public. In the Asia Pacific region, they include lunch on Sydney Harbour’s Fort Denison Island and a private harbour cruise to New Zealand’s Waiheke Island with lunch at a top winery.
